seeing all that effort you put in outdoor growing, I'm asking myself why you're not stepping into full greenhouse growing? Great looking pumpkin btw;)

Is the netting working well for the insects? I've got to do something more about the cucumber beetles and am considering doing insect netting like you.

Maybe one day for a greenhouse, but that would be an extra big step up from what I have. I'm also cautious that a greenhouse would introduce its own problems: heat, more restricted space etc. The netting is working really well. I've had a limited number of insects find a way in (many because I didn't secure the doors well a couple of times). Access is a bit cramped, and it was a lot to set it up, but the best thing is no Yellow Vine Disease so far

Where did you get your netting? Yellow vine has taken out 5 of my 7 plants the last two years and bacterial wilt one of the others. I sure would love to avoid that issue.

I got mine from a local farm wholesaler. The netting brand is Proteknet. It came in a 20'x328' roll, and then my wife and I sewed it into two 50'x60' pieces (she did the sewing, I did the netting management..)

Thanks for the information, looks like I'm going to have to get my sewing machine out this winter.
