I will start with buckwheat because it will be finished by the time my other spots open up after contest season, then I can do one crop of multi-species green manure in the entire patch for the fall. As my friend, Jim Ford, says “the most important thing for your soil biology is having living roots present in the soil at all times.” Soil biology needs a host to live. A cover crop of diverse species will host a wide variety of biology in your soil. Diversity is ideal.
