What do you reckon that is?

I am not sure but I think it is related to excessive water.

may be water but I would look around stem for a ring around it I have had 3 corner alfafa hoppers girdle my stems before normally when there is a legume crop near.

Take a look. I don't know. I have some plants of my own that look terrible and I can't figure it out... Its vexing. So I'm always interested in solving these problems.

Calcium, iron and copper, and phosphorus would be possible antidotes... as would raising the soil ph??? Way out on a limb now. Well, there's a 1% chance I am correct.

Ken That happened to me too! On a couple of my plants. I am/was scared i got the dreaded tobacco mosaic or somet other terrible virus. But for some reason I haven't ripped the plants up yet. I did read online that excess rain can do this too. Very weird. All these years as a grower and I am still learning and seeing new stuff

I don't see any rings around the stems. It could be a deficiency of some sort.
Since I have other varieties of pepper plants that are doing fine, I am going to pull these out.

My pepper plants did it too. I have also read that excess water will do it. It's what I blamed it on as soon as I saw it.

Thanks Tony. Misery loves company! I think we are just victims of weather once again. The universe keeps telling to get a greenhouse.
