First thing I have to say is you have a wonderful looking setup. I have bitten my fingernail burn to the quick after smoking my tires to half track I think I can still roll to the finish line, if I have to I will Fred Flinstone the rest of the way, on the floor is not always the fastest. This is my first pass, I can improve. You have very educational post Thank you.

I agree with the importance of noting both the foliage before and after the kin. I do think there could be an excess on one side and a deficiency on the other side. The only way to know for sure would be to test both sides. I think this throttling you are talking about should help the driver/grower stay on the racetrack.

my Tissue samples came back a few weeks ago showing 10-11 times a toxic level of boron and all I had was the edge burn. I have always referred to it as a halo in all of the field crops that I have been involved with for decades. Ketchup you thought it was chloride when I mentioned it even before fruit set. I dismissed until Alex told me I should get a sample. When I saw the analysis I was blown away. I dont want to misstate what He told me but it was basically the plant can store what it does not need. What factures are involved between being toxic and holding on to what it does not need. Heat humidity water other nutrient availability desire to reproduce. Fresh set of soil samples should have already been sent to lab, probably not until after harvest.

Little Ketchup- The goal is to stay just below the redline in the peak of the power curve;-)

Swamp Foot- 2nd post: The edge burn is not only characteristic of potassium, but these are easily confused. What actually is happening is salt (nutrient) accumulation on the edges where the water comes out in the morning and then quickly dries resulting in a "burn" to the leaf tissue. How much Boron did you add?

Matt, I know you probably push the limits as far as the EC goes hence you get a bit more salt in the leaves but I've also heard of some "micro-micro" deficiencies, like nickel or molybdenum doing this. I wonder if some azomite or something would help. A lack of these rock minerals being a possible culprit? But I do totally agree that it could be a water/salt issue. It probably is, but alas I never trust the branch I'm on. So I'm always willing to go out on another limb.

1 lb 11% of mule team per 1000 feet. should not have brought me up to 2 ppm. My calcium is high also, I know it is competing with potassium uptake. So I switched to daily dose of SK and AS at .25-.5 EC instead of the 5-15-28 micro I had been using.
obviously don't need any more micro boron. I subbed in another micro pack I have but using sparingly 1 time a week because it is heavy in Zinc (melons like it).I put a lot of gypsum on and used my brothers Turkey litter and he cleaned out houses two weeks ago I asked him to send off sample he is running 75 lb per ton Witch is high normal would be 35-45 lb.
I can deal with calcium plan on boron is a sunflower patch as soon as pumpkins are harvested they consume boron better than most plants, just a little work to remove the plants after they remove boron.

Little Ketchup- When I fertilize the EC is about 0.6 (~420ppm) which is well below most growers. It is the soil that contains a lot of the salts and the plants are moving so much water it does not take much for the salts to accumulate.

Swamp Foot- Sounds like you have generally high nutrients which can sometimes bring in more problems. Being low and then adding to achieve the desired target is the "best" way to go, but it takes a careful eye to know when you are at the max the plants can handle.

jamieg- It seems the 2154 will not put up impressive growth rates by the tape, but it can surprise you at the scale;-)
