Hot peppers love hot weather. Growing in bags will help keep soil burning. The hotter you can get the environment the better, and they like it dry too. At least that's what I found, I water mine right around the time the leaves start to wilt. Not sure if I mentioned this before but if you have ability to keep those bags somewhere over winter, next year will be much better!

Just keep the main stem and some branches while they sit over winter in a garage or shed

I am hoping to get a couple protected crosses so I can get seeds for next year. We don't have a place to store them that won't freeze solid.
