I've had good luck with placing sand around my stump and keeping a fan on it 24/7.

I removed my fan for a week due to lots of rain and some wet soil was moved on to the stump and today i found rot but it was just surface so a quick fix

Not a bad idea to have a "roof" over your stump for the whole season. We lost a stump last year still but severed it and kept the roof on and a fan 24-7. Pumpkin put on close to 1000 pounds afterwards.

Put a small box with a stick to cover it im going on vacation today until sunday after that ill add a table over
