Maurice, FYI, not detracting from your experiment, but adding to it: It got rainy whilst I had 6 of my 42# FP seeds between 2 shot glasses for over 48 hours (you might try it, as it causes complete submersion of the seeds) - I ended up putting them in the fridge; I was then concerned that they would NOT sprout at all, having been even longer but when put in a ZipLoc on a barely-moist paper towel over a 27-Watt LED table lamp, they each had a 1/8" to 1" root happening in 24 hours. They got planted out with confidence then, lol, since they were actually sprouting. All 6 out. eg
