Likely did not pollinate. More bad news, the other parts may not be fused... There's a green sepal between them. I'd keep taking care of the plant and hope for a better one to come along. Might try a small amount of ammomium type fertilizer to stimulate some larger buds, or other organic (amino acid based) nitrogen might help. The summer heat tends to change the nitrogen profile and I think this is part of the reason why there are usually less megas in the summer. The other issues would be pruning and disease. A somewhat pruned plant and a disease free plant would be the best options for tilting luck in your favor. Good luck.
