Fill a 32 gallon trash can with water then put a heaping teaspoon borax in then have fun. Should be about 4 or 5 ppms... Shouldn't hurt the plants, foliar or drench or both. Someone correct me if my calculations are significantly off.

I wouldn't mess with it and before you feel that you must, read this stuff at the link and go from there. Why add Boron when it has the ONLY warning sign I've ever seen on Google? Try to not bet the Pumpkin Farm, lol. I'm one to talk. I would routinely fertilize with a product that has Boron in it and everything else to boot. Today was 'Ferts Day' and it literally rained, all day. Poof! You might also wanna use bamboo sticks instead of stones for a makeshift size measurement - rocks and stones are rounded and movable by default and can look differently daily for many reasons. Yes.
water weight: 15,140 grams in 4 gallons
Boron weight: .75 grams borax per 1/4 teaspoon equals about .075 grams actual boron per 1/4 teaspoon (this may not be exact but its close enough)
Water weight divided by boron weight comes out to 1 part per 200,000 which is 5 parts per 1,000,000
So yeah I think that comes out to about 5 ppms. That should be fine. I'm sure a search engine would give a similar answer.
Targeting specific nutrients is intelligent and I think it will pay off eventually even though its not faster or easier.
