It looks like you got plenty of male flowers not sure how old your plant is but too many too early usually means they're stressed

I'd be more worried about a bunch of females showing up all at once, lol. Plants are like parties. My computer is bugging out right now...Page menu listings while I am typing as well. Weird! I'm not saying that it isn't, but I see about 2 male flowers and we need to remember that there are usually several flowers at most leaf stalk-vine junctions, so, no biggie, In My Honest Opinion. 'Why hold back?', will say the plant. To be aware of that is a good thing. farmerTay, consider getting a scuffle hoe for shallow, shallow weeding, right up to the plant. A terrific thing to have, believe me---eric g

I really hope they're not stressed, I've been babying them since they sprouted :( These seedlings were transplanted on April 16th, almost a month old so not too young. They're not wilting in the sun anymore so I've stopped covering them, I'm watering them whenever we don't get enough rain, covering them when it gets too cold. It could be our constant fluctuating temperatures, I guess? We're getting cold front after cold front and 80 degree temps in between. Quite unusual for us, we're usually consistently warm by now. As for weeding, I do need to get out there and weed it again, the grass and clover just keep coming back haha

Also, I meant to add that I do have several female flowers as well that seem to be popping in. After a quick google search, it looks like over-caring for it could cause stress-induced male flower production, so what some people have done is pinch off some of the male flowers and it forces it to think it needs female buds so it produces some in its place. Not sure if that works or not but I may have to try it out on some of the plants I don't think I'll use

There are *some* reasons to remove males but in general they are always needed for *some* pollination---one type is no good without the other. Keep some bread ties for ??? as well, for something else, somewhere, lol. However, of course, experiment as much as you need to. I must say that Google responses are VERY helpful but there ARE mistakes and misleading info, so, think of 'us' as your Pumpkin Google, lol! And the same goes for me - I am full of 'it' and some of 'it' is good, but then, there is the rest, lol. Your plants look terrific (that word scares me, lol) and yeah, the plants getting ahead of us is like (when?) a teacher is so good that the kids start writing essays that are better than his or hers, lol. Keep up the good work and here's 'where I see your plants' in a few weeks for motivation, from my own 178 seed from '14 and this pic and the next always humble me in a good way! Take care---eric g https://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=333216
