I will kill the turtle and stomp its eggs before it gets my grandson. I'm kinda hooked on the grand children, wonder why they call them GRAND. no turtles were harmed in the making of this photo.

Okay Luke your right about female I saw her nest hole and eggs,so maybe not gravid, without seeing that I wouldn't have known any of that. You are obviously a learned Turtle fellow. I think she will eat my cucumbers and that's okay.

I was just implying that they might be great friends if left to their own devices. Sorry for the misconstrue bait. 'No turtles were harmed', well, I'd like to not be the cause of otherwise, lol. Glad you inadvertently spelt out my misspeak. Wow, uh new wurd fer meee, lol. eg

Anything outdoors is good exposure for the kids, it's awesome you are so close to the river. About 20 years ago, I spent a year on the Mississippi River floodplains\swamps involved in a Snapping Turtle study. We'd bait large hoop nets with chopped up Silver carp, anchor them, then come back the next morning. We'd pull some wild stuff from those nets and some very unhappy turtles. They were all noted and released. Sliders were always a favorite; Snappers we had to watch our fingers or hands given some were bigger than a tree stump.
