"The Carolina Bays" are part of a fascinating impact hypothesis as well. I see a lot of evidence in favor of these theories.

But a theory is a bad word these days! Theories make insecure people feel insecure? We all want the comfort of an absolute truth (or an absolute authority.) We are easily deceived because of our desire for authoritative truth, ironically. By those who masquerade as being truthful and authoritative! Finding the real truth is a genuine spiritual battle. And sometimes it may involve looking into alternative theories.
