Did you bury the secondaries? I've been waiting for mine to reach 6+ inches to ensure the tips don't get burried. Also, slow start to secondaries is often times a-ok.

Plant looks fantastic. Be patient let it grow some roots first... No yanking plants. You probably want a diamond pattern anyhow, as far as what will directly affect the pumpkin. I'll second what TFVT said. For magical results, secure the hoop end open and take a 4-5 day vacation... a watched pot wont boil.

The light needs to be up nearly against the plant, or very close; Keeping it away is like 'Here, Boy, C'mere'! to a plant. I wonder what would happen if all three sides had fully-outdoor lighting and the main vine was starved for it, like those old-fashioned photographer 'over-cloaks'. I can't wait to be in other growers' shoes! Good luck---eric g

Hi - I ranted pretty well on #90 of 96 Diary Entries, FYI. I hope what I said helps you or sparks a true solution (Pun-kin intended) and all is much better, especially with or even without. eric g
