My winter project is about to get started, I took down one of the gh last fall. before freeze up and expanded the foot print So I am hoping in the next 6 weeks , I can get the new one up and ready to go for the 2026 season. So I can start the ground thawing process in early April. At this point , I am still optimistic, but being a one man army, will see how it goes

Well ,I am finally got things going , snow blowed 30 inches of compressed snow off the foot print , and got the 3 main sections up for a 28' 6" clear span , now have to get the gable ends done and start the purlin install process, weather has been decent 20's to the teens ,I went with a 6 pitch on the roof , hoping for easier snow removal, as my getting close to 68 years old ass, could use it

Also , went with a pole barn style of framing, triple ,2x4's glued with titebond 3 and shot with 3" galv ring shanked nails, I was a little nervous, because I built everything inside and didn't know if it would fit till I started to put it together, went well

Greenhouse update, I was hoping to be farther along at this point in time, but with this guy trying to help out and the not the most ideal weather for outside work , things going along slowly. Those temps don't include the windchill factors as it has been breezy. The hardest part of a cold weather build is keeping your hands warm , as your gloves have to come off alot, but overall happy as almost done with the high part and still on schedule , hoping to be done by germination day, we will see

Well , the framing is almost complete , just a few more braces to install (wind shear) Just happy to be off the ladders for now , always slow going The roof will be 1/2 poly carbonate panels and 1/2 6 mil IRAC poly film , which works well for this environment The temps are going to warm up to high mid 20's (yeah) with snow for a couple of days , then drop right back down again for sub zero night time lows, good news gaining over 5 minutes of daylight now per day
