Hit me today after US President Carter's funeral that there was a connection going way back to Dad in 1976. I never forgot he took down a 336 lb. giant at the time to Circleville, Ohio. Anyhow long story short 336 was huge at the time believe it or not? Ohio had great growers back then and still do today of course. Any how when Dad got back he talked about Jimmy Carter being on the campaign trail at the time with an election coming up and he was there! So many memories going way back with giant pumpkin stories. Good memory Danny. I had a flashback with his passing. As a young boy my family visited some relatives by Atlanta for Easter. We climbed Stone Mountain for sunrise service and after went to a famous restaurant. He was governor then and my uncle introduced me and I got to shake hands with him. Thought it was pretty cool for a little boy to shake hands with a governor.

I might not be a big fan of Carters Policies. But I always felt like he meant well. And tried to do what he thought was right. Unlike many of our so called leaders lately.
