Not to put this thought into your head but that almost reminds me of the "edema" that got Matt last year. Hopefully it's nothing though. How long until the weigh off again? Haha.

Yeah I do hope that's not a reaction to an infection. Biopsy time. But there may not be anything to see. Maybe smell?

Good suggestions, I'd not even considered the possibility of an infection. No smell, and the lumps are hard and not oozing, so hopefully that's a good sign. I'll have to do more research apparently - anyone know of a good family doctor with cucurbits experience?
