Sounds like a good plan but I have to ask, what is solarizing and why no tillage radishes?

The radishes stink as they break down over winter and the dogs like frozen radish popsicles and get obsessed with the patch and bring the damn things into the house. Solarization is clear plastic covering soil for a period of weeks to months, ideally done when the light is strongest. Heats up soil, kills vegetation, seeds, some pests. Think poor-man's steam sterilizing.
