Ten years ago I would have said you were Nuts, that it couldnt have yellow vine disease. But over recent years I have seen plenty of evidence of pumpkins growing on plants that are infected. I dont rip out my plants that get YVD, so I just study them. 1450 is certainly better than I have ever done with YVD though!!

WHen did you first notice the signs of YVD?

I'm questioning my judgment a little but the signs of yellow vine seemed pretty clear to me (after having it so many times). Secondary vines sticking straight up. Yellowing leaves (although not as pronounced as normal). And most telling, a big reduction in pumpkin growth when it should have been ramping up. I first noticed it in mid July. I should actually see if I can get the plant tested to confirm
