You can carve out the heart and put that in your refrigerator. Get it nice and cold,your son will love it. they have plenty of sugar, if they get too mature they will be a bit mealy where the seeds are. The heart should still be good though. I don't use any systemic pesticides, just for that purpose, If I sell one I want the customer and myself to feel good about eating it.
