When they're that far apart you can certainly wait to see which female has the best color/shape, but it will get messy fast if you let them grow more than a few feet across each other.

It could work, But if you are like me it will be a mess before you know it. Me personally, I would cull one plant.

You could potentially turn the plant on the right to the right at the sharpest angle possible, starting back from where any vine rooting has last occurred and make use of the area to the plant's right as its new turf and when it reaches around the stump, come back up the left side of the plant, nearest us. Each could be its own jumble rather than a combined one. G'Luck.eg
