Yes Ken...it gives a perfect example of when a seedcoating can be pulled. Sometimes the skeen stays attatched to both the cot and shell and you don't want to pull it because it can rip and tear. Anybody got a pic of them attached? Great Photo!!

It would be totally appropriate to turn the seed coat if you have a knack for seeing the future, in that it's kind of like leverage when something very flat and wet cannot be removed from a countertop until you reach the end of the countertop, like a sliver of ice or similar. So, gently edge-gripping the edges of the seedling at the 'neck' and then with the opposite (thumb) and forefinger pushing/twisting on the edge of the seed coat will amaze those daring to try it. Practice=Perfect, etc.---Hold the beer and twist off the top, lol. PS---The seed is SO amazing that it has a sheath on the outside AND the inside of the Cotyledons, acting as a friction-free surface - until it gets dried out, then it's a problem. eg
