Pretty funny - I have a 166 Gerry and a 150 Gerry Squash growing under an end table lamp that is on every night from dusk to Dawn and the 166, at least, JUST had a male flower bloom this morning (12-26-'24). I could theoretically transplant it into a 5-gallon bucket and see if it bears fruit as well, only being a foot tall now at the most. The basement is too cold for probably rapid growth so I'd hafta have it in my living room. Hmmm...so much like work, lol---eric g

Cold might be a good thing... you wouldnt really want a pumpkin plant to grow fast over the winter otherwise how would you have enough space. Cold temps might be the perfect way to overwinter plants, perhaps warming them for just an hour a day would be optimal so they can have just a minimal level of metabolism and regeneration.

Thanks for your insight on that, but I've seen another grower or two (with one growing across their living room curtains' 'assembly' that'd be just fine - In fact, discussing it is a good way to grease the gears (not wheels, lol) of my thinking of doing it. Indeed, a plant downstairs WOULD be really cool, lol, and I will still be thinking of it. It is so neat to have a male flower with actual POLLEN on it on Christmas Day! I messed with it and wished for a female. What's new, lol???
I DO need to get some Miracle-Gro 15-30-15, as this is the time of the growth for it to be exaggerated. I'm all out! eg
