There's already "pumpkin boat" racing, and pumpkins are very nice bobbing along in the water. It's a superb use for giant pumpkins.
But has anyone ever "driven" a pumpkin? Even if it was slow (manpowered using very low gears to get going?) I think it would be fun.
I realize some people may think differently!
Might there be a Guinness record up for grabs in doing so?
If interested, let's come up with some community rules for pumpkin street racing.

Not that I am aware of? I was approached a couple years ago regarding such an event, racing giant pumpkins down a street, however was not able to help out. After doing a pumpkin regatta for some 20 years since 1999 was enough and we simply do not grow as many giants now as we did back in them days. So it never got off the ground. It would be interesting to see a group take such an event on? Definitely be a crowd pleaser with break downs, collisions, etc. LOL

Thanks for the link I hadnt seen that. Looks like a blast of fun! Was 2008 was about when the pumpkins generally started getting big enough??? Could really have a 4 person stagecoach in some of todays pumpkins.
