I'm all for clubs making money but why do we promote seeds sales till after club auctions are complete? Really hurting clubs from raising money at auctions. It's been on the decline.

Does that mean 'No seed sales until after seed auctions are overwith...'? ...or 'an extension until like May 1st'...
...
On a brighter note, yet FYI, your email link on the XXXXX 'site directs to kelly klinker, in case it is in error. XXXXX could also raise the Membership price to $30 and no one would jump ship about it (stores, town government, the barber shop are ALL raising prices, the Post Office, etc.), >>> with all the great benefits available. Hell, it even had me wanting to join, lol.
Good Luck. eric g

Many factors at play in recent years from what I am seeing. There are more auctions, many growers selling seeds online, a greater selection of quality seeds with top genetics, some clubs much larger memberships, etc. One recent critical issue unfortunately hurting some auctions are their strict conditions regarding countries not shipping to, shipping rates and minimum bids. So obviously perhaps losing some good bidders there? Just imagine if all weigh offs had an auction! Guess the old adage "supply and demand" comes into play. I also notice ones selling seeds still offering good older seeds!

But I would also add it is very apparent the hobby is still growing strong and healthy through out the World. Seeing all the tremendous results today especially from places never before just amazing what growers can accomplish!

Thanks Todd, I do appreciate and recognize your concerns. Good seeds getting no bids even on double sets! Especially 2,000 lb. plus pumpkins NO SALE??? I can find home for many of these seeds to be planted here, but can not bid when an auction does not ship to CANADA. Yes I have several USA contacts they could be shipped to, but really do not want to burden them. This applies to many other foreign growers as well. We have never experienced any issues/problems with seeds coming from the USA, and trust me there has been many over the years from growers. Yet I have to respect that auction's decision not to for their own reasons. No lack of other options that's for sure thankfully.

Home Depot has a few bins of reasonably priced items at the front of the store to get the dopamine flowing... its better for everyone if no one gets discouraged. There was a downstream affect for me this year where the $30 minimum bids were discouraging and I haven't attended as many auctions. Its possible that both the buyers and sellers could be discouraged.
Best/worst of both worlds: if seed auctions were like a Home Depot, the first 5 lots at each auction would have $5 minimum bids then they'd bump you up to $40 minimum bids thereafter lol :(

Nor did I. Everybody, sell all that you want. Yay! Awww, so, it all worked out, just fine, lol. Smooth sailing! Glad there's the 'Last edit:' feature. The original question has been changed from when I answered to it, probably to no avail anyway. Good thing also that I truncated a great deal from what I was going to say, all to be helpful but never seen as such. I'm all for seed auctions during the core of the week, as well. It's better than TV! eg

just my 2 cents worth....BHGPG just finished with a silent auction....cost to get seeds from growers and cost to ship them out....cost of supplies was just under $1000 as shipping supplies and mailing cost have increased 10 fold in the past 15 years

Yeah, I mean, this is an outlier for sure, but I got the travel straps at the auction, to send to canada was 60$. I mean, i was willing to cover costs, but still. Absolutely wild. I heard from other people that sending normal seeds cross border is 15$+. Sending across the country (as a canadian) isnt that bad, but it's still about 5$ to get the bubble envelope and mailed it
