I am sad to report that Dan Boyce has passed away today. Danny was a world class grower and even a better guy. He and his wife Holly own the only 2000 pound pumpkin grown in Vermont. Dan stayed connected with many growers, clubs and weigh offs even though he could not grow for the past couple of years. Dan mentored many growers and was always willing to chip in and help anyone who needed it. Our hobby lost a great guy today! I will update with any information regarding services. Cards or letters can be sent to Holly Boyce, 152 Rte. 144, Benson VT 05743.

I’m so sad to hear this. Dan was such a generous guy who was always willing to help people out in this hobby. I loved talking to him at the weigh offs and I always enjoyed his conversations with me not only about pumpkins. Dan will be very missed and I will always remember him!

First class guy that I always looked forward to seeing at our events. Quiet. Humble. I did not know Dan well but he always greeted me like I was his best friend in the world. A big loss for our community. My thoughts go out to Holly.

One of the kindest people you will ever meet. Every year Danny and Holly would come down from Vermont to attend the Woodstock fair, whether it be answering questions in the pumpkin tent or just enjoying what the fair had to offer.
I will miss you my friend, Rest in peace.
My condolences to Holly and family.

Rest in peace Dan. Holly and Dan were among the first giant pumpkin growers I ever met, and I felt instantly welcome. Thinking of the Boyce family.
