Subject:  Where did giant pumpkins/ squash originate from?

Im doing a paper on giant pumpkins for a class and wanted to know some history of giant pumpkins. I know Howard Dill really got it started as a sport but were did the first giant pumpkin and squash come from?

If you want to go way back? I cant prove it but I think Adam had a big kin going in the Garden of Eden!I think it was the forbidden fruit??Well then Eve came along & squashed his plans for the big one!!lol
