The NHGPGA has just learned that Bruce Hooker has passed away. He died Monday morning unexpectedly. Bruce has been a competitive NH grower since 2003, his personal best was 1465lbs in 2012. He has sat on the board for our club for many years. He will be truly missed! There will be no services as per his wishes.

Bruce is what this hobby is all about, he would help anyone. When I first started growing AG's he spent the better part of a couple year answering every silly question I had. He talked me through many problems my first couple years. He was a good friend.

I remember how bad he chased that first 1000 pounder. He wanted the respect that he thought that weight would bring. He had are respect because of the decent human being he was. He took the time daily to help a hard headed guy 1400 miles away. I will never forget him.

My 4 year old daughter seen a piece on the news about a new world record pumpkin. And she ask "daddy can you grow me one of those giant pumpkins". My answer was "sure honey" OMG! I had NO idea what I was getting into. without Bruce I couldn't have grow a 490 lb pumpkin. In my daughters eyes it was bigger than that one on the news. Respect, yeah he had my respect.

bruce was a long time supporter of the oaf "coats for kids yearly seed promo fundraiser and a friend for may years.
