My 1185 Shenoha 2013 seeds have the tiny surface cracks in the outer seed coats. I have never had a problem sprouting a seed that has them. In fact the 991 urena that grew my 1493 had them and it was a great plant. This question gets each year and and as those receive seeds from other growers so I figured I would throw the info out there for newer growers. Here is an example of when it has been asked before.

Maybe the seeds dried out too quickly, by being in too warm if a place like in the sun or under a hot lamp.

This was my first year drying these. Mine have these cracks, some of them rather large. I just finished running germ test and they all sprouted. Mine were in the greenhouse where its hot, so maybe it is too hot drying that causes it? They are okay though, I took the worst cracked/least filled for germ test and all came out well.
