Hi All- I have four growing areas ready for winter. One area was seeded with mustard and then mowed during the blossom stage. The mustard clippings were tilled in. All four areas were seeded with rye, winter wheat, clover and winter peas. Really excited about next year. As of July 1, I will be retired. More time, just less energy..lol..due to age. I have so much yard and house work to catch up on.. not sure how many plants to grow. But would love next year to seriously compete for master gardner. Good luck to all!

Having almost 6 months in retirement myself, I can say with certainty that you will enjoy it. And if you think you have a lot of house and yard work to catch up on, just wait until your family thinks up even more chores for you. You have a very admirable goal. I have a goal for next year myself, a ride on the Anamosa Pumpkinfest parade float (top 3 finish). I hope we both make it.
