I'm trying to shortent the number of sprays in the spray program in 2014. Can these be mixed together? Thanks!

Why are you spraying neem oil?

With neem you want to eliminate insects.
Seaweed are fast growing brown algae as organic fertilizer with all trace minerals but too much sodium and mercuri.
I won´t use any seaweed, as I always said here with the largest opposition of most other growers.
With so much OM, seaweed sucks all the azadirachtin and pyrethroides, and so neem was all of nothing.
If you want to fight spider mites or aphids, you have to spray up to four times a month with Bayer neem Azadirachtin (I do not counsel pure oil) solitary solution.
Instead of seaweed you could spray aminos from slaughterhouse waste with mineral foliars and coconut powder.

I wouldn't mix them either. They do serve different purposes. I do love neem/karanja oil. The best way to control fungal diseases and pests without using chemicals. Now the best brand I've found is The Ahimsa Foundation. It's exponentially higher in azadirachtin than other brands. We carry it at www.kisorganics.com or the supplier is www.neemresource.com.

Neem Oil Recipe:
Per Quart
1 1/2 tsp. Ahimsa Neem Oil
1 tsp. Silica
1 T. Preservative free Aloe Juice (optional as a surfactant)
Pre-mix the neem and silica in a small glass or bowl to emulsify the neem (it will turn a milky color). You may need to add some warm water to this mix in order to get the neem fully soluble.
Add the mixture to a quart of tepid water (approx. 70-75 degrees) and shake well. You may add 1 T. of liquid aloe (preferably without any preservatives) to the water.
One application should kill the powdery mildew overnight. You may need to apply as frequently as 2-3X a week depending on environmental conditions. The neem oil breaks down rapidly under direct sunlight, so it is best applied in the evening.
I’ve also found that Actinovate works fairly well as a preventative, though if you have a bad outbreak I’ve found it to be ineffective. I typically apply it at a rate of 2X a week if I know I’m going to be having conditions that support PM growth. I also use the Actinovate at a rate that is slightly higher than the recommended dosage on the container.
Please store Neem Oil out of direct sunlight or intense lighting.

pg3, I don't know of a reason why you can not mix the two. I have certainly done it lots of times, and I will continue to until I see some actual research that says it isn't a good thing. You should see our rose foliage.
Sea weed is a marvelous additive to a garden. I put truckloads on straight from the salt chuck every year. I add piles to my various compost piles and I spray with it. I do not put it straight on as a mulch to the pumpkin patch, but I do on tomatoes and many other crops.
But back to seaweed spray and neem- If you are using neem extract read, read and read about it. Know what you are using and why. The manufacturers label is always a good place to start. I believe there is a caution against using neem extract with a strong alkaline material like Bordeaux mix. I also use a small amount of a spreader sticker with it, a few drops of liquid soap will work also. The problem with neem as I see it is that it is an indiscriminate pesticide. It will harm many bugs, even the good ones. I don't use it as much as I used to and I try to spray when the bees have gone to bed. As an insecticide it takes repeated spraying at intervals to have the desired effect. It isn't a one spray kills everything like synthetic pesticides, and I think it is considered an "organic". I use it mainly as a an anti fungal.

Thank you Tad12 for introducing actinovate.
This year I saw double the size of AG-leafs after fighting fusarium with actinovate, but I drenched it into the soil not higher in dose than recommended.
Thank you also Tad12 for your advices to mix crude neem oil.
Bracketed I told before, that I would not use crude neem oil. You confirmed my words with the enormous amount of time you need to make it dissolved...dissolved? No, it never will become dissolved. It always is an emulsion, you can´t spray so good.
When you work with the mister blower, you don´t reach all aphids with an emulsion. So I work with the backpack sprayer and this tong-type noozle:

Only Bayer´s extract I use for my sprayer, but you also can also use an 24oz.-ready-to-use:

cavity search, Any issues with the salts if you're using straight seaweed? Most people I know wash the seaweed first and then compost it prior to adding it into the garden. Just curious what your experience has been or if that's been an issue. Have you had a soil test since adding all the seaweed? Might be high in K.

pumplobster, the karanja oil is much easier to work with and will have the same effects as the neem (and not the same odor). It might be worth experimenting with it.

Check the levels of azadirachtin as a comparison between neem oils. Some are coming out of china and of much lower quality.

My favorite sprayer is the chapin 1949. All metal parts. Awesome. http://www.amazon.com/Chapin-Industrial-3-5-Gallon-Concrete-1949/dp/B00002N8O8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384387178&sr=8-1&keywords=chapin+1949

Thanks for sharing!

Nobody steeps the brown algae with fresh water, before processing! They always use what they have in front of the nose: seawater. Santa might bring karanja for an old wife to mask her wrinkles, but I do not use this oil in my patches.

You could try Curly Leaf Pondweed and Milfoil often near midwest ponds, contains no salts as seaweed, so this can be directly used for compost and is high in nutrients. abundant and free!!!

...in lack of anything better to do you could plunder a pond...
Hey Chris from aurora, I muck clean material, like the filter cake from my essence orange!
And the eo filtrate is fertigated with enough potassium, aminos, growth enhancer...
The growers from Napa had the recipe from me.
And for 2014 I will give the improved eo only to one grower in the US...a grower who never grew more then 1000 lbs.!
