Lets say over the past week you have developed a 4 inch crack below the blossom, significant tears in the blossom, and a 4 inch crack above the blossom. All cracks form a perfectly straight line, and continue to get deeper and deeper with over a month to go. Do you:

1. continue at full speed ahead, or even take it up a notch with the KDL.
2. go crazy with the KDL in an effort to get the fruit to stop growing.
3. stop worrying about it, as poor vine placement at the stem will probably result in the fruit picking itself before it splits anyway.
4. hire a hit man to take out the competition.
5. ratchet a tie-down strap around the fruit near the blossom.
6. ratchet 10 tie-down straps around the entire fruit to force it to only put on internal weight.
7. find a certified scale tomorrow and hope it goes really heavy to the charts to set a new personal best.
8. take a two week vacation.
9. go back to growing small 250-300 sq foot plants that look like they never have the potential to split fruit.
10. something else.

...I successfully held one together...at least it never split...with #5...only it was the cincher strap from my lifter ring. Nothing to lose!!! Good luck! Only don't forget to loosen it every nite...:-)

I grow in a 300 sf patch and mine did at its peak 36 lbs a day. I would probably choose 10.
