I lost the nub on my blossom end---appeared to snap off
pretty clean, with a just a few drops of oozing. Applied
a little capton and it's now dry. My pumpkin is about 185
lbs and this happened a few days ago---what kind if problem
can this pose---can it split easier now?

I'm interested in your response since I have a pumpkin that I think will grow over its blossom end and I wonder about nub issues. Good luck

I had to remove the nub on one of the pumpkins and into the fruit a little due to rot. The pumpkin is right now about 600lbs with a sucked in blossom spot. The spot is dry and not causing any issues.

i had one last year do ok untill about day 30 when it hit close to 480# est the split came from the small hole on the inside at which the pollen falls into...the hole was the size of a finger tip... very little meat in that area in most cases.. i hope she does better than mine did.

Thanks, based on the reponses I feel more confident it will be fine---I'll keep an eye on it!

Maybe we hit Pap with a little sulphur and a fan, and he's good for another 20+ years!!!!
