Let's say your soil is right, Tissue tests are good, Weather has been cool but moist and the Pumps are at day 25 .. #'s are in line with your State Record but you are running about 10 days short due to a late start ....
If you were willing to risk blowing them up what would you do to push them as hard as you could to receive the largest gains ?

Sorry about the double tap there ... Didn't think that was possible...

If you are truly on state record pace then I would suggest standing at the edge of the patch and scream at that SOB....GROW Dammit!

I would let it ride for now. As a good grower once told me, just keep the leaves healthy, check the stem and keep the plant happy. If you stay out of the way of it then it will do what it is supposed to do. Then once your daily gains start tapering off then start giving it some fertilizer. 25 days is pretty early in the game. Lots of growing left to go.

If its growing good, why chance screwing up a good one by over fertilizing. keep the plant healthy, water evenly and enjoy the ride. The weather will be the biggest factor in the weight.Hope for a warm next 50 days

Try to keep the plant healthy. Keep up with insecticides and fungicides. Keep the soil moist but not wet enough to start root rot or blow up the pumpkin. Say your prayers and hope for the best.

Keep it healthy and growing is the key here.

Root building hormones delay senescence they include IBA, NAA, Kinetin's, Kelp. Also anything that contains anti-oxidants will keep the plant younger and growing. They include ascorbic acids and things like Maple syrups which have micro's along with Super-oxide Dismutase (SOD) which disarms free radicles and reduces DNA damage keeping the plant growing longer than normal.
