The leaves along the main vine of my best plant are turning light green. They look otherwise healthy and the leaves off the secondaries are staying a nice dark green. What could this mean??? Thanks!

Need more information...is it the new growth? could be a lack of nitrogen or some other vital nutrient. Could be a virus...could be cold weather affecting uptake of nutrients, or to much rain messing with the oxygen content in the soil... could also be aphids

It isn't new growth, but there has been a lot of rain. I'll check for aphids. Thanks for the ideas.

I am a new grower, but I think this was yellow vine disease. The leaves turned really yellow this morning and it spread down one of the secondaries. The pumpkin turned soft. The whole plant came out today. At first, the leaves were just a little lighter, like maybe a lack of nitrogen, but today definitely looked diseased. Squash bugs didn't seem to be a problem this year, but as we cleaned up the patch we saw one. Matt says this is a disease spread by squash bugs so that might have been it. One good plant left! The kids were good sports about it, so that's the main thing. :)
