I have had 4 pumpkins not take on one plant and 3 take with no problems on another. Does anyone have any idea why this might be or something I should try? I usually pollinate before 6AM and use 2-4 males. I used 7 on my last attempt with no success.

Maybe try pollinating a bit later like between 7 and 8 am. I have better luck then when I have to work early and pollinate at 6 am. Also check out the slide show I made. This is the way I've done it for two years now and have never had one not take.

Maybe you just have a sterile plant if you can't get anything to take after trying this.

at 6 a.m. the pollon could be damp and causing some problems. we pick our males and take them inside for one hr so pollon is nice and dry before attempying to pollinate the female. pap

I've seen some growers have better luck when they try selfing the pumpkin.

I'm going to try selfing tomorrow and I will let everything warm up a bit. Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
