I have one last chance of getting a kin on the main. She looks like it will open any time now. My problem is that it is pouring rain. Any chance of pollinating in the rain?? Any suggestions soon as possible would be appreciated!!!!
Thanks!!!!!

Pollinating in the rain is not an issue. If it makes you feel better, just cover it with something after pollinating. Rain is much better than 90 plus degrees.

Really - so your saying sex in the rain is fine as long as you wear a rain coat!!!! Good news!! ps I think she has decided not to come out today and play after all. 9:40 and still no change!!!

If that's the case, cover the blossom with a cheap styrofoam cooler overnight. I like to pollinate dry blossoms and keep them dry throughout the day of pollination.

On the day after pollination, cut the petals off.

Should I be covering the male flowers also to keep the pollen dry or pick them and put in a dry place until tommorrow a.m. ???

I tie my males shut the night prior so I don't have any issue with them getting wet or contaminated.

Joe,cover your female with a styrofoam cup the night before, and after pollination put the cup back on. I take my males inside the night before, this way I dont have to worry if it rains to get my pollen wet.
