my AG was flagging week so ago put two layers window screen up & cup cup cup cup auto maticaly.like it gave me a thumbs up

Don't they cup when its dry? and flag when its poring. Depending it they have a the need or not for moisture. I know they flag when its hot to conserve moisture.

It was so dry last year here they would cup to get any drop they could. Such a cool design just a little water and its funneled straight to the roots. God is smart:)

Silica or silicone is excellent is helping with heat stress. I use potassium silicate at 1 tsp./gal when watering my plants in the summer months.

I suspect the plant growth is pacing ahead of the root growth. Once vines get rooted down it'll diminish.

Just today it was only 85, but my 840 wasn't flagged at all and my 1381 was flagging. I suspect it is genetic, root setting still taking hold or both.

Carl, we are experiencing the same weather as you. I have never seen a tomato plant flag....sure you aren't growing a pumpkin?

Silicone works great on pumpkins, better than milk.
But it gives them big bumps, though.
