Cold- 18 inches of snow here.
Any guesses when Spring will really arrive?
Will I have to use snow for mulch in my patch?

Have sun today, still cold and we are to get snow Monday (dusting) (I hope)

I saw where they have a wanted poster out on that Ground Hog from PA. I know I will be looking for him as well as his other family members. :o)

Different year, same song. We saw 105+ for multiple days in a row during actual growing season last year, the biggest river in North America (Mississippi) 10 miles from my house look like a creek, and corn averaging 3 feet tall come harvest... I'll take that cold and precip any time. I couldn't imagine growing in the South east U.S. They easily have the hardest growing conditions come crunch time even though they might not have the snow now.

We are still driving cars on the lake and ice fishing. Over two feet of ice. Highs next week maybe 30.

Was fishing speckled trout yesterday, lots of ice, at least 18 inches. Had to snowblow driveway twice last week. Gonna be a while before I have to worry about the patch.

Got a foot of snow yesterday, hadn't seen that in over 30 years. I'd rather that than a really hot spring like last year.

Last storm blew in drifts of rock hard snow that might be 5' solid over the whole patch. I've never seen this much snow since I started pumpkin growing. Usually have my shacks out warming the soil by now.. I can't get to the building with the shacks in it let alone put them in the patch. If it starts to melt now maybe in 3 weeks I'll be able to open the door....
