I have read many different things on here on how much and how too apply. Can I just dissolve in water and spray on or till it in solid form.
I also read from the search function a little goes a long way and it can be toxic. I have 4 pounds for 100 square feet. Is there a benchmark number one adds and I can vary it depending on other nutrient numbers?
Thanks

Wow 4 pounds. Here's a suggestion.... Go to: http://www.westernlaboratories.com/ Log into the tutorial using the instructions. Open the pdf titled "Fertilizer Calculations for AGP". Read page 8 carefully.

My 2 cents: Spread it out dry and till it in when you till the patch.

Sorry, 4 pounds for a 1000 square feet and I don't plan on using it all.
I'll give that link a look Tom. Thanks

We'll see what my soil test says next month when I retest...

I used a flour sifter to spread that amount last year on my 1000sqf

4 LBS of manganese sulfate (32% mn ) would be 28 ppm in 1000 sq ft. What it's your current level and current ph?

Did you do a soil test? I wouldn't put any on unless my soil test said I need it. It's true to much can be very toxic

Thanks guys, no problem Chris. I had one of those days too as I watched Mizzou lose in the first round... again.
My soil test from A&L had my pH at 7.1 and Manganese is a 2.
At the above rate, I'd add about 2.8 pounds per 1000 square feet. My main concern was how do I apply, so I think I will use a spreader and till in.
Thanks

I had 2 ppm on my fall test just got an early spring test and it was 76 ppm and all I added was dairy poo and leaves. Thanks for telling me to test again Bry. Thanks to you I didn't just add more based on my fall test.

Regardless of what your soil Mn level is, my agronomist has recommended 1#/1000sq ft per application. and applications should be spread across a season as a part of a long term fertility program. Yes, your level implies you have a lot of work to do to reach a 40ppm Mn level, but you cannot do it all at once and expect ideal conditions.

Well, I just used the stuff! I sprayed it over my area so I wouldn't breath the powder in before tilling. We'll see how it works!

Thanks Joze. I was telling someone earlier in an email I will probably go light since I'd rather be under than over. I also am not that confident with my sampling.
