Hi all,
we are close to put the seeds down and the line up must now be decided.
I have a 1647 but I'm not yet sure if I want to use it or not. Last season I have seen just a couple of entries in the weigh off top list so I'm asking if that seed has been tried just from a few people and if there's any significant result I don't know (like dmg pumpkins etc) Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Haven´t planted a 1647 myself, but I recall there were some message board entries from people who had troubles with the germination of the 1647. Hence, I would recommend to start this seed before it refuses to pop up at all. Better earlier than later. If it makes a nice seedling, then see if it´s a strong and aggressive plant worth a precious spot in your patch, or if you prefer to keep it as a backup or as a pollinator plant on 100 sqft. A poor germination record might make it a bad candidate for auctions (high risk to pay money for nothing but a dead seed), but the performance of some live 1647s tells that it can do it. I guess you won´t have to pay any money for the seed now, and therefore you can only lose viability of the seed if you don´t give it a go.
