I just found out that a good friend, and inspiration to me just passed away on Monday February 18th. Richard Plush, in Colorado Springs had just celebrated his 25th year of doing beautiful giant pumpkin carvings this last October. My wife and I had made it a tradition to make the trek to Colorado Springs every Halloween to visit with Richard, and to see all his beautiful carvings. He had become a good friend in the last 6 years and will be deeply missed by many other Colorado giant pumpkin growers as well! I'm sure that Richard's wife Donna, his daughter Toni, and his other close family will appreciate condolences from other pumpkin growers far and wide!

We are sad to hear of Richard's passing. Our sympathy and condolences to his wife Donna and daughter Toni. When we lived in Colorado we got to know Richard quite well. He was a true gentleman and good friend. We visited his patch and he visited ours quite often. Every year he would send us pictures of his pumpkin carvings. He was also a huge Denver Bronco fan.
