We felt Dad's old Atlantic Giant pumpkin patches from the 1970's begin to shake and tremor the last few days here in the Atlantic. The waves and tides were higher than usual, then a big piece of granite fell in New Hampshire and weighed 1843.5 lbs. Way to go Steve Geddes! Still trying to hang on, thinking this is crazy, it's not even October yet - the ground really shook last night, some of Howard's old seeds were falling off the shelves. Ron Wallace, 2009 lbs, the World's first 1 ton pumpkin. WOW! On behalf of the Dill Family and Windsor, Nova Scotia - the home of the Atlantic Giant pumpkin - Congratulations Ron, Dick and the Wallace family. Howard would be so proud of you. Also, great job Topsfield, one of the original 4 GPC sites. Danny and Diana

I had the great pleasure to visit Dill family farm while on our family vacation a few years ago. Howard was there to meet us and show us around. Bought some seeds at his shop and started growing pumpkins and things have never been the same. Best vacation I ever took. Thanks to the Dill family.

Danny & Diana- Just wanted to say that your mention of a big piece of granite falling in NH had me both smiling and laughing. The NH growers appreciate the granite reference. An absolute honor being mentioned by the Dill family. Thank You, Steve

this seed/variety has shown some major quakes. i would think the most earth shattering variety in the last 15 years or so(all the veggie/fruit world). good job to Dill's and all the following to be world records and personal bests in the past few years.

RON SAID IT BEST ON THE WAY HOME FRIDAY NIGHT."WITHOUT HOWARD DILL WE WOULD ALL STILL BE GROWING PORCH PUMPKINS" EVERYTHING WE GROWERS ACCOMPLISH TODAY IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO HOWARDS EARLY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND TEACHINGS.
HOWARD WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBER ONE AT THE WALLACE FARM

Great quote Pap ! Ron somehow found a way to not just beat both last years AND this years world records but blast his way beyond the 1 TON mark . A weight many growers thought was years away from happening .
IF Ron repeats with another 1 ton pumpkin this coming Saturday it would just be outstanding , a major major accomplishment .
Best of luck , make it happen .
