Hi guys, this is my first year going to a weighoff. Anyone here ever go to the Nekoosa,Wi weighoff? Am I expected to have my pkin on some kind of a lifting ring or something? I can get it on a pallet and into my truck to get it there but from then on I am pretty much lost and I emailed them but didn't get any answers, just that the weighoff was Sat. From the website it looks like they want your pkin there for the weekend, is that right.....don't seem to make any sense to me that I have to come back the next day to get the kin? There is a phone number but I am afraid I will get the same person that emailed me back and they weren't too helpful.

Im sure if you show up on a pallet they will get it unloaded.I have never seen a weigh -off where everyone brought there own lifting ring.I'm sure you will be fine if its under 500 lbs you can get 5 guys & drag it out of a van truck whatever on a tarp or carrying device, they will work with you.Just show up.We need full participation.Good Luck! It's AWL GOOD!

On a Pallet is fine... The Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest would like the Giant Fruit and Vegetables to stay on display through Sunday. If there is an issue with entries staying on site, the grower is to contact the Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest Event Coordinator, at 715-323-4533 to make alternate arrangements.
They will work with you...

Duane, I've been to Nekoosa the last several years. I'll be there this year as well.
All you need is a pumpkin on a pallet. A quality pallet is nice so they can actually move the pumkpin around without tearing your pallet apart.
You can take your pumpkin home with you Saturday afternoon. No need to contact anyone or ask permission.
Show up Saturday morning. Leave Saturday afternoon or as you wish. They appreciate anyone that stays both days so they can display pumpkins Sunday.

No need to have a pumpkin to go to Nekoosa. Been there, done that...and likely doing that! LOL.

Duane, I agree with Chris that it can still be fun to go to Nekoosa whether you bring a pumpkin or not.
I've been twice without a pumpkin and if I go this year I probably won't have one along this time either.
Nekoosa is still a great place to talk to a lot of growers and see a lot of pumpkins.
