We got our fist heavy damaging frost this mornin. 30 dergrees out there with misters runin over the plant. Pumpkin in layers of sheets and blankets with tarp cover suspended off of "T" posts. If plant is damaged then is it wise to cut Kin from damaged plant and if so even with puting or not puting bottles of water on the ends of the vines..How much weight loss do ya'll reckon she'll will lose per day? Is there a rule of thumb on this from the past years? With weigh off on the 30th I want too see if I should go ahead and cut the kin from the vine or what. Any Input is Greatly Appreciated. Thanks, Joseph

Leave it hooked upped as long as you can. Weight loss will vary when it is cut..but is will loose weight. Maybe enough to knock you out of contention on Sunday..

Even if your plant is toast, leave it on the vine as long as possible.

Thanks Zappa, The 3-6am on off every 15 min. watering saved the plant...all leaves are up and cupped at 11:55 am with no signs of burning..not one leaf....truly amazing..now if the kin doesn't explode from all the watering, lol. Thanks again to all!!!
