IMO there is nothing that you could have done or should do to prevent this. With that said, inverted blossoms have always gone heavy for me, with the inverted area being very thick inside after cutting the pumpkin open. I would not worry if I was you unless you see some soft spots.

I don't see the possibility of a split happening there. If anything, I'd say the blossom end has been reinforced.
