Joze (Joe Ailts)

Deer Park, WI

Hello-

As I watch giant after giant succumb to the various forces of nature (5 out of 6 lost the battle to pythium in mid-July), the one positive aspect of my operation is the field pumpkin patch (non-competetive).

I run about an acre of Phat Jacks, Hybrid prizewinners, and various other fall decor varieties, which are sold at the end of my driveway. In addition to being a very fulfilling hobby, the extra income fuels investments for improving my chances at growing a giant.

Long story short- Im looking at ramping up the scale of my field pumpkin operation. I am looking for someone with experience managing a mid-large scale field pumpkin operation with whom I can bounce some questions off of.

If you or someone you know is willing to have a telephone conversation with me, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks for the suggestions, Shannon. I own the book, but it misses some important aspects regarding scaling up existing operations and machinery requirements.
