Thats why we plant 10, so we might have 4-5 to work with in the end..

So. Maine

Been doing this a lotta years I figure on losing 1 out of 3 . Either the plant or the fruit goes down .

A lot of people lose plants. I have limited space and equipment so loseing a plant will really hurt. I have to always keep on top of things.

Handyhomegrown it would be interesting to know not only how many make it but specifically want made a plant not make it (specific disease, BES, rot, dill ring split, etc). I'd put money that some growers would make a different seed choice if they had that kind of information.

I'm with Quinn. 30% loss in an average season. 50% this year because of the higher heat most people are experiencing. I think there were be a number of fruits that will mature sooner and we will see more splits due to the heat. We saw that last year in Colorado and this year is looking worse.

Andy W and I were talking about this the other night, based on our results we figured about 25% loss each season.
