lol.. My kin grew 2 inches in 4 days. Looking at past posts shows that once growth stops its over. It isn't possible it will last til Halloween, is it. Or should I cut it, and let the plant set anther for Halloween?

It could last till October leave it on the plant well shaded and start another one.

Darren, lots of time left...gotta chill!! If your plant is still alive and good shape...ride it out.
Pumpkins are good on the vine for over 100 days, yours were pollinated fist week of June...you got lots of time left to go.

some have lasted 130 days according to AGGC. don't give up too soon and look for an earlier weigh off.

Darren, I pollinated July 22 last year on my 1101. I had some problems with the plants (disease) and kept it on just 8 feet of vine till the beginning of october. I had 4 feet of vine on each side coming down and burried at the nodes. That's it. It shot off new leaves and kept like that for a month. Then, I had it on display till December. LMAO, true story

Darren, couple of years ago we grew the 919 Richards and got one pollinated super early for our area on June 16th. It sat on the vine till October 10th and harvested for weighoff October 11th...almost 120 days and best part was the Howard Dill Award!!

Darren I have picked mine in September and kept them in a heated 60 degree area until the following April. I am not joking. They can keep a long, long time, given the right strorage conditions.

Darren, I am only on year 2, but last year my "baby-giant" had periods of really slow growth, more towards the end of season where it appeared she was doing nothing, but continued slowly until we harvested in early Oct. I was doing about 1 1/2 inch a day recently, and panicked but has picked up to 2-3 inches now. I have always said, this is not a hobby for the faint-of-heart!!! (Or did someone else say that!!?? :) )
