Had problems with pollinating on the main due to hot weather. I have one on a side vine. Day 30 is today so I'll be taking
measurements and seeing how well it's growing. My estimate is around 400 lbs. Best plant I've ever grown. Incredibly hearty
is how I would describe it. The main vine is almost 2" inches
in diameter. I want to plant it again for sure.

I've lost most of the plant to bacterial wilt. Crown is still good with 1 side vine that has a kin on it. Lost a 300+ pounder to the disease. Will grow it again.

Day 20 91" C and 215 lbs! Crazy great! Then it stopped and rotted...done. I think was the heat as there was nothing bad between stump and pumpkin.....lost 3 others...so rough year in one of the hottest July on record...since the 1936 dust bowl!

Pap, thanks for putting that into my head. I am just taking it day by day. That is enough to worry about.

Day 40 yesterday for my 1789 and it was at 336 OTT. The other one I am growing a little slower because it is in a dryer part of the patch. Been a great seed to grow.

Noticed a split in my pumpkin on the 1789 on Friday. Goes all the way to the center. That was my last pumpkin. My other pumpkin just stopped growing after D30. Looking towards next year at this point. :-(

Lost mine to yellow vine disease. Too bad too because it was a great looking, aggressive plant.

i think the 1789 will be very much in demand next year.
especially since the 1725 has become so scarce.
