Two questions..(1) can out of state people enter. (2) will they weigh field pumpkins for GPC status.

Yes anyone can enter but we don't have a class for field pumpkins at in our weigh off.

Are they a single vegetable weighoff? I don't care about prize money or ribbons, just want it weighed at a gpc event. I always thought all gpc weighoffs were required to weigh all gpc fruit ( with or without awards)

Tom, is there any reason we cannot weight it and enter it in GPC? Huff is right as far as having to enter all GPC categories I believe.

I'm going to pre register , I may have one I may not I just want to be prepared.
I don't want to make a fuss. I am not looking for money, ribbon, or anything like that. just a certified weight. I have a early set growing good ( here is a pic from day 8 since pollination) http://www.bigpumpkins.com/displayphoto.asp?pid=7092&gid=1 .
And if it stays healthy I'm pretty fired up about it.

1. Yes. 2. Yes but no prize and you need to register with the fair and pay the entry fee, the field pumpkin would be recorded on the GPC/BP.com results page.

We offer prizes for giant pumpkin, watermelon and tomato only.

don't know growth rates for field pumpkins so I'm using the AG one. Today at day 10 it's a whopping 14 lbs, 4 lb gain from yesterday..woohoo...LOL
